Who is this course for? Individuals who wish to get an SIA licence and work in the security industry as a door supervisor or security guard.
Topics covered: These include the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry, the importance of safe working practices, drug-misuse legislation, issues and procedures relevant to the role of a door supervisor, licensing law, queue management, how to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations, problem-solving techniques when resolving conflict, physical interventions and the implications of their use and the use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others.
Assessment method: practical assessments in the classroom and multiple-choice examinations taken in the classroom
Requirements: 18yrs and over plus you must have a valid first aid qualification which you can produce before starting the course (must be valid for one year from the course start date).
